Mission

Our mission is to inspire a group of like-minded professionals who mirror the quality, integrity and honor of the original Mercati Generali. We will inspire our partners to provide the highest level of quality products and services in the tradition of old world beliefs found only in the best of class and market established in the last century in the marketplace of Rome, Italy.

ORIGIN

The original Mercati Generali was an Italian marketplace that opened at the beginning of last century in Rome in 1921.  It was a place where people could participate in buying, selling and trading of the highest quality of merchandise and services. Where the quality and integrity of goods or services you sold, created the most important currency in which to trade.

Smaller trades and ideologies of all different types prevailed with a common respect staying true to their word and the promises made to be the best of the best.  A market where the highest level of quality and prompt delivery were truly prestigious values, unlike what we’ve come to expect in today’s marketplace.

Not to be forgotten - was the pride people felt to be part of something so exclusive, and so well respected.  Truly providing a pleasurable experience many Roman residents treasured. It brought together the community in ways we do not see nor hear of today in our cluttered world of commerce. I will never forget, as a kid, going to visit my grandfather on his farmland, where he grew his produce. I saw his stacked cases of vegetables including some carrots and when I went to grab a couple, my grandpa quickly told me not to touch the carrots.   I asked why and he replied, “because they’re going to Mercati Generali and I have already weighed them for the customers, but don’t worry…”and he proceeded to put on his dirty worn shoes, went into wetlands and mud, and came back with some freshly picked carrots, just to make me happy.   The one take away from this moment was, that above all else, my grandfather wanted to keep his word, be well respected, deliver what he promised and prove that he was one of the hardest workers, thus, he had the integrity to be an exclusive merchant for Mercati Generali.

Currency to my grandfather came down a few simple words:

Hard work
Honesty
Integrity
Punctuality Quality
Respect

He knew that with these morals, he would be able to take care of his family, and that’s exactly what he did. As I reflect on my background and my heritage, I have come to realize that I wish to follow in my grandfathers footsteps, by establishing Mercati Generali.  A new way of bringing together the best of the best!
